Terms of Service

The rules for using Shavin’s website, Studio, community and kits.

Last updated 12 October 2026

1. Agreement

These terms apply when you use the Shavin website, Shavin Studio, the community, the documentation site and the kits storefront (together, the “services”), which are run by the Shavin team (“we”, “us”). By using the services or signing in, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the services.

If you use the services for an organisation, you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms on its behalf.

2. Open-source software and paid products

The open-source packages (@shavin/ui, the CLI, the MCP server, the skills and block-schema) are licensed under the MIT License that ships with each package. These terms do not restrict the rights that licence gives you.

Other products, such as kits and any package marked proprietary or “not open source yet”, come with their own licence. Where a licence ships with a product, it governs your use of that product.

3. Accounts

You sign in with GitHub or Google. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to it secure. Tell us if you think someone else has used it. You must give accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of what you create and upload, including Studio projects and community blocks.

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display and transmit your content as needed to run the services. For anything you publish to the community, this includes showing and distributing it to other users on the terms shown when you publish.

You confirm that you have the rights to what you submit, including any images, fonts or code from third parties, and that it does not break the law or anyone else’s rights.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the services to:

  • break the law or infringe someone’s rights;
  • upload malware, or content that is hateful, harassing or sexually exploitative of minors;
  • probe, disrupt or overload the services, or bypass rate limits or access controls;
  • scrape the services at a scale that harms them, or resell access to them;
  • impersonate others, or mislead people about who published something.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

6. AI features and generated output

Shavin tools are designed to work with AI assistants. Anything an assistant generates, and anything the tools check or auto-fix, may contain mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing code and designs before you ship them, including for accessibility and legal compliance.

7. Kits and purchases

Kits are sold under the licence that comes with each kit. Price, payment and any refund terms are shown or agreed at the time of purchase. Kit enquiries are currently handled by email.

8. Beta software

Shavin is in beta. Features, packages and APIs can change or be removed, and the services may have bugs or downtime. Keep your own backups of work you care about.

9. Third-party services

The services rely on providers such as GitHub, Google and Supabase, and may link to third-party sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

10. Our intellectual property

Except for the open-source code released under its licence and your own content, the services, the Shavin name, logos and branding belong to us. Do not use the name or logos in a way that suggests we endorse you without our written permission.

11. No warranty

The services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the services is limited to the amount you paid us for them in the twelve months before the claim, or zero if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.

13. Ending your use

You can stop using the services and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if we need to for legal or security reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as ownership, disclaimers and liability limits, will survive.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is material we will tell signed-in users, for example by email or a notice on the site. Continuing to use the services after a change means you accept it.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms: hello@shavin.cc. How we handle personal data is covered in the Privacy Policy.
